Genstar performed annual service on my generator and left it non-functing. It won't crank and keeps backfiring. I've been calling the office for days and emailing and no one will return our calls or messages. 2 months ago this would have been a 5 star review…. My generator started  having issues in June, service was able to get it working over the phone in just a few minutes.  Great! Early July had a power outage on Sunday, generator turned on, no power in house.  Called for emergency service 2x.   No return call.  Followed up on Monday, nothing, called again Tuesday finally scheduled a regular appointment for 2 weeks out.  They they pushed back appointment to last Friday.   Friday comes and no one shows up. I call and am told the tech called out sick and someone would reach out to reschedule.  Nope.  I call again am given a new date in Mid August with the promise of a call back shortly.  Nope. Nearly a month has gone by with no action for what was requested as emergency service. 8/3/25 Update-   Despite a very positive response from Gen Star to my review, nothing changed-   No return call from service manager as promised.   No less than 5 phone calls requesting a conversation with a manager went unanswered. I was able to find another vendor that was able to address my issues within a day of my request.   Genstar was unable to assist on an issue that arose on 7/4, until 8/10.   Completely unacceptabe. CHANGE OF REVIEW - still not working and the last tech was out here over 2 weeks ago and was supposed to contact me about the next step and never heard back.   I am not impressed. We decided to get a generator from Genstar When we built our new house. We had everything pre-organized prior to getting the generator and then once we removed and we added a Kohler generator. During the set up and testing mode not everything went as planned and it took a few weeks to get technicians out here to sort it. Once all the technicians had come and gone, everything seemingly was running fine. We’ve had several thunderstorms that are pretty typical during summer months in Florida. The first one happened about a week or so after we finalized the generator and it never came on. We called the technicians to come back out to figure out what was going On, and there were some wiring that was not done appropriately, but again technicians came out and sorted it. Just recently, we’ve had two major thunderstorms come through where the power had gone out And not everything turned on with the generator in fact, it was very confusing why certain things came along in certain things did not. I figured at this point in time. This would all be sorted, but we have to set up another meeting to figure out why only certain things were coming on instead of what we were told and promised. Bottom line is the generator is functional and it does make certain key things work inside the house, but doesn’t really matter when other things don’t work because you can’t use one without the other.
